Investor Trio Finds and Fine-Tunes Talent and Technology

Circles & Squares focuses on talent when seeking potential investment opportunities in the Danish startup communities.

(Randers, 2 June 2021) The investment portfolio is very diversified at Circles & Squares in Denmark, as they invest in startups within software for screen solutions, CMS-systems, gaming and clean energy technologies. However, they have a special interest in – and a certain focus on – new technologies within the music and audio industries. With investments in companies such as Caveman Audio (guitar/bass effects and amplification for numerous world-class artists), Noatronic (guitar/bass control systems) and Singdaptive (digital vocal coaching), the founders of Circles & Squares draw directly upon their own interests.

In 1999, long before the internet became mainstream, CEO Ronnie Bach founded DanDomain, which grew to become one of Denmark’s leading companies in hosting and other online services, but he is also a passionate guitarist and has a recording studio in his home. Further, Ronnie is involved with HESTENS HULE, which is a local equivalent to the startup TV show Shark Tank.

“I have firsthand experience with all parts of the startup journey,” Ronnie Bach says. “Therefore, I know what entrepreneurs are driven by, what kind of guidance and support they need along the way, and what motivates them on whatever particular part of the journey they are currently in. Further, as a musician I know that sometimes you need to improvise, always listen and ready to act fast. Those are all valuable qualities to have when you start a new company.”

Similarly, CMO and co-founder Allan Strand has a background in music – directly as well as indirectly. Apart from being a singer and guitarist, he has great experience within marketing and branding from a year-long position as VP of Marketing at TC Group, which included premium audio brands such as TC Electronic, TC-Helicon, Lab.gruppen and Tannoy.

Despite the passion for music, it is by no means a condition for Circles & Squares when deciding to invest in a startup company. “Talent is universal, and when we see it in a meaningful context, we’re not afraid to go for it,” Ronnie Bach concludes.

Apart from the mentioned companies in the music and audio industry, Circles and Squares are currently investing in NordicScreen and ScreenBuddy (digital signage), Unite Connect (digital meeting room solutions), Bricksite (CMS-system), Trivia Fight (gaming), Waste Hero (sustainable waste management), ElonTech (fully electric contractor machines) and Blue World (methanol fuel cells).
